Masked City is a free-to-play browser-based multiplayer RPG set in a gritty comic book city where every player chooses a side — Hero or Villain — and fights to leave their mark.
No downloads. No pay to win. Just a city full of real players competing for power, respect, and control of every block.
Masked City is built around one simple idea — your choices define your character.
From the moment you arrive you pick a side. Heroes patrol the streets, protect the weak, and fight for justice. Villains run protection rackets, shake down businesses, and take what they want. Both paths lead to the same destination — power. How you get there is entirely up to you.
Train your stats at the Gym. Work the Streets for cash. Fight your way up the rankings through real player vs player combat. Build or join an Alliance and wage war against rival factions for control of the city's districts. Hit the Casino when you need a break. Every day in Masked City there is something to do, someone to fight, and ground to take.
One of the things that makes Masked City unique is its roster of 30 hand-crafted comic book NPCs waiting for you in the Arena — each one a love letter to the superhero genre with a Masked City twist.
From Daddy Long Legs, the wall-crawler whose legs are frankly too long, to Eclipse, the city's most terrifying threat, every character has a personality, a backstory, and a reason to fight. These are not generic enemies. They are citizens of the same city you live in.
Masked City was designed, built, and launched by a single developer over the course of a year.
Every system — the combat engine, the alliance wars, the casino, the explore map, the poker tables, the referral system, the NPC artwork — was built from scratch. No templates, no shortcuts, no team. Just a vision for what a modern browser RPG could feel like and the determination to build it.
This game exists because browser RPGs shaped a generation of gamers and deserve to be done properly. Masked City is that attempt.
Most browser games feel like spreadsheets wearing a costume.
Masked City was built to feel like a game. Custom comic book character art for every NPC. A real-time multiplayer casino with live roulette and Texas Hold'em poker. An alliance system with genuine depth — shared treasuries, armories, war chambers, and loans. An explore system where heroes and villains fight for physical control of a living map.
The goal has always been simple — build something worth playing.
Masked City is in beta. The city is young, the leaderboards are wide open, and the alliances are still being formed.
This is the best time to join. The players who arrive now will shape what this city becomes. The alliances built today will be the ones running things tomorrow.
The city does not care who you were before you got here. It only cares what you do next.
Masked City is completely free to play. Optional donator credits support the game and unlock quality of life perks but every core feature is available to every player from day one.
No pay to win. No shortcuts. Just the city.
Built with stubbornness and too much coffee.
