Game Rules

Account Ownership

One person may never own or use more than one account.
You may not train, play on, or manage another player's account.
Swapping accounts with another player is not allowed.
Once you register on Masked City that account is yours and yours alone. Nobody else may play on it.

When a player is found to own or use multiple accounts the following applies:

Players who share an IP address (family members, roommates) are permitted to interact with each other in good faith.
You may not fully fund another player's account or create accounts solely to benefit another player. This is considered a push account and is not allowed.
When in doubt about whether an interaction could appear suspicious contact a staff member before proceeding.

Creating accounts for the sole purpose of benefiting another player is strictly forbidden.
Accounts used only to funnel resources to other players will be banned along with the player receiving the benefits.

Masked City is for players aged 13 and older.
Accounts found to be owned by players under 13 will be suspended until the owner reaches the appropriate age.
Pornographic content is strictly prohibited. Any content containing nudity, strong sexual themes, or similarly offensive material will result in punishment at staff discretion.
Prejudiced content of any kind is not welcome. This includes but is not limited to racism, hate speech, or derogatory comments targeting any person or group. Keep your opinions to yourself.
The N-word in any form will not be tolerated anywhere on Masked City under any circumstances.
Violations of community standards will result in bans with length determined by staff based on severity.

Scamming other players is not allowed. If you make a deal honor it.
Impersonating staff members or other players is strictly forbidden. This includes changing your username, profile picture, or any other identifier to trick others into thinking you are someone else.
Using staff titles such as Mayor, Minister, Officer, or Moderator in any context to mislead other players is not allowed.
Donating items or cash to an Alliance means those assets belong to the Alliance. If you leave or are removed you are not entitled to a refund. Think carefully before donating.
Violations are punishable by ban with length determined by staff.

In-game currency, credits, donator packs, items, or accounts may not be sold for real money or traded for value in another game.
Purchasing in-game assets with real money outside of the official donate page is not allowed.
Violations of this rule will result in a permanent ban.

Intentionally exploiting a bug or glitch for personal gain or the gain of others is strictly forbidden.
If you find a bug report it to staff immediately via the forums or direct message.
Players caught exploiting bugs will be banned. Length determined by staff based on severity.

Using any program, script, or automation tool to play the game on your behalf is strictly forbidden.
Masked City rewards players for their time. Automation gives an unfair advantage and will not be tolerated.
Players caught using automation tools will be banned.

Players who decide to quit may give away their in-game assets to other players. If you return those assets will not be refunded.
Staff will not delete accounts on request. Simply log out.
Players who wish to start fresh must contact a staff member, remain inactive on their old account for 365 days, and then may register a new account. The old account will be permanently banned with nothing transferred.

Prohibited actions:

Double posting — edit your previous post if you have more to add
Bumping threads that have been inactive for more than 5 days unless your reply is on topic
Posting threads in the wrong board
Going off topic in threads
Recreating locked or deleted threads
Creating multiple threads on the same topic
Posting content in all caps
Posting only to increase your post count — if you have nothing to add do not post

Prohibited behavior:

Backseat moderating — if you have a concern about a post or thread contact staff directly
Trolling beyond reasonable limits — mild trolling is tolerated, targeted harassment is not
Excessive flaming — light banter is acceptable, personal attacks are not
Spamming — posting the same thing repeatedly
Begging for in-game currency, items, or credits
Posting autoplay videos or audio

Chat is a privilege not a right. Players who abuse chat will receive lengthy bans at staff discretion.

Not allowed in chat:

Sharing another player's private personal information without their consent is strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban.
Private information includes but is not limited to: photographs, real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, workplace, and social media usernames.
Posting private information about a player's family members or children will result in an immediate permanent ban.
If your private information is being shared report it to staff immediately.
Information a player has chosen to make public on their own profile is considered fair game.

Staff are volunteers. Treat them with respect.
If you wish to appeal a ban or punishment do so calmly and respectfully. Rude or aggressive appeals will result in extended punishment.
If you have a complaint about a staff member contact the next rank up.
Staff may temporarily restrict your ability to message them if you are being disrespectful. This will be lifted within 48 hours.
