Food
Food is how you top up Energy immediately instead of waiting on regen. Eating an item removes it and restores Energy right away, capped at your max.
Storage: Lunchbox & Fridge
Food you own lives in one of two places:
- Lunchbox (10 slots) — your active stash. You eat directly from here. Buying food goes straight into it — once it's full, purchases are blocked until you eat or clear something out. There's no automatic overflow.
- Fridge (20 slots) — backup storage. You can manually move food from your Lunchbox into the Fridge to free up active slots, then retrieve it back to the Lunchbox later when you're ready to eat it. Some rewards (see Energy Drink below) land directly in the Fridge instead of the Lunchbox.
Buying at the Bodega
Five everyday items, all bought at the Bodega. Price isn't fixed — it scales with your character level: price = floor(multiplier × (level + 3) ÷ 2). For reference, here's what each costs at level 50:
Buying at the Junkyard
One item, sold flat in Scraps instead of Cash, no level scaling:
Bought at the Junkyard, same as every other food item — straight into your Lunchbox, with a "fill the Lunchbox" option to buy as many as you have room and Scraps for in one go.
Rare & Special Food
Four items you can't just walk up and buy — each has its own specific source:
- Brawler Brunch — bought at the Penthouse's Lobby room (Penthouse access required), priced at double whatever Hero Hoagie costs you at the Bodega. The Lobby also has a "fill the trolley" option that buys enough at once to top off your whole Lunchbox in one go.
- Snow Cone & The Last Slice — both come from the same source: a rare 1.5% chance on any Exploring move, only while you're enrolled in the Alignment War with at least 1 War Point. When it triggers, it's mostly a bonus of 50 Explore Turns — Snow Cone is the more common food result of that roll, The Last Slice the rarer one.
- Energy Drink — the biggest single Energy item in the game. Redeem it at the Quick Stop for 1 Energy Drink Voucher + $5 cash, landing straight in your Fridge. Vouchers themselves are the rare part — winning MCC Championship as a fighter or bettor is one source, but staff can also hand them out for special events, downtime, or just as a random reward, so MCC isn't the only way to get one.
The Rooftop
If you have Penthouse access, working the Rooftop can randomly reward you with food too — any item in the game except Energy Drink, including the rare war-find items above. It's a genuine extra source for Brawler Brunch, Snow Cone, and The Last Slice on top of their normal sources, gated only by whether you have Lunchbox room to receive it.
