The Masked Man

The Masked Man is the city's guide: an AI that answers questions about the game in the Comms. He never gives his name, he's always already there, and he answers heroes and villains with the same facts and a different opinion of them.

Asking Him

• Privately — open the Direct tab. He's pinned at the top. Your questions and his answers there are only seen by you, and he remembers the last few things you asked.
• When you arrive — the first time you open the game, he greets you by name on the Rookie Line. The greeting shows up in your @ mentions too.
• In any channel — start a message with @MaskedMan, or tap the mask beside the message box. He answers in that channel and quotes your question, so everyone there learns from it too.

Where His Answers Come From

He answers only from this wiki, and ends each answer with the article he used. If the wiki doesn't cover something, he says so and points you to the Forums or staff instead of guessing. He doesn't see your account, other players or anything live in the game, so ask him how things work, not what's happening right now.

He can still be wrong. If an answer is off, tap That's wrong under it. Staff see it, and the wiki page behind it gets fixed.

Limits

• 10 questions a day, or 25 for Donators. Staff are unlimited. The count resets at midnight, and a question only counts once he's answered it.
• One question at a time, at least 20 seconds apart, up to 300 characters.
• He won't help with cheating, bots, alt accounts or exploits, won't talk about other players, and can't promise rewards or refunds. He isn't staff.
• His messages go through the same chat filter as everyone's, and you can report one like any other message.
• Staff can switch him off at any time. If the line goes quiet, try again later.
